Hand-painted and glazed in Spain, our ceramic tiles come in square and rectangular shapes, from plain colours to patterned designs. Subtle variations in colour, glaze and surface make every tile unique. For kitchens, bathrooms and spaces made to be lived in.
Our ceramic tiles are handmade and hand-painted in Spain using a terracotta clay body. Each piece is individually finished, glazed and fired, creating the subtle variations in colour, surface and form that define the collection.
Sizes & formats
The collection includes both square and rectangular ceramic tiles, with formats ranging from 10 × 10 cm, 13 × 13 cm and 15 × 15 cm squares to 5 × 25 cm rectangular tiles. Thickness varies by design and format; individual product pages provide the exact specifications.
Colours, designs & finishes
Choose from solid colours, brushstroke patterns and hand-painted decorative designs in gloss and matte finishes. As each tile is finished by hand, differences in tone, brushwork, glaze and edges are expected. We recommend mixing tiles from across the order before installation to distribute these variations naturally.
Where can they be used?
Designed for interior applications including kitchen splashbacks, bathroom walls, shower walls, fireplaces, feature walls, alcoves and decorative surfaces. Suitability can vary by tile and application, so check the individual product page before specifying tiles for floors, wet areas or other demanding surfaces.
Square or rectangular?
Square tiles create an even, balanced grid and work particularly well across larger areas or where a quieter rhythm is wanted. Our 5 × 25 cm rectangular tiles create a more linear effect and can be laid horizontally or vertically. Different colours and designs can also be combined within a scheme.
How many tiles will I need?
Coverage depends on the format selected. As a guide, 50 rectangular 5 × 25 cm tiles cover approximately 0.63 m² / 6.73 sq ft before grout joints, cuts and wastage. Coverage information for square formats is provided on individual product pages. We recommend ordering additional tiles for cuts, installation wastage and future replacements.
Installation
Handmade tiles naturally carry slight differences in dimensions, edges and surface. We recommend laying out the tiles before installation so colour and variation can be balanced across the finished area. Installation should be carried out by an experienced professional using adhesives, grout, sealing and preparation appropriate to the tile and intended application.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use these tiles in showers, on floors or outdoors?
Our hand-glazed ceramic tiles are suitable for interior walls and floors, including kitchen splashbacks, bathrooms and shower walls. They withstand warm conditions and have an easy-to-clean glazed surface, making them a practical, durable finish for everyday interiors.
We do not recommend outdoor installation where temperatures may fall below −5°C, as freezing conditions can affect the tile’s integrity.
How much variation should I expect?
Each tile is hand-painted and glazed, so small differences in colour, texture and edges are expected. We recommend ordering a sample and mixing tiles from across your order during installation to create a balanced finish.
Can I mix colours or buy fewer than 50 tiles?
Yes, you can combine two colours within a box of 50 tiles of the same size. Email team@cardoonstudio.com, and we’ll arrange a personalised order for you.
Our minimum order is 50 tiles, with individual samples available separately. This helps our independent makers and small family-run workshops cover the minimum costs of small-batch production and sustain their craft.
When will my order arrive, and what does delivery cost?
Tiles are usually dispatched within 5 working days, plus transit time to your address. Delivery charges are shown on each product page and confirmed at checkout. Tiles are excluded from our free-delivery offer.
If you’re working to a project deadline, contact team@cardoonstudio.com before ordering. We’ll confirm the expected delivery timeframe and advise on the best option for your project.
What happens if they arrive damaged?
If your tiles are damaged in transit or have a quality defect, we’ll replace the affected tiles within 7 working days. Email team@cardoonstudio.com with your order number and photographs of the tiles and packaging so we can arrange replacements.
