Handmade Ceramic Bowls
Small bowls, everyday rituals. Made for the table, and everywhere beyond it.
Olives before dinner. Matcha in the morning. Rings left by the bed. Hand-shaped forms, painted by hand, made to be picked up, passed around and used without thinking.
Stoneware, porcelain and terracotta, shaped and fired for everyday use. From shallow snack bowls to deeper matcha bowls, each piece begins with clay and the knowledge of how it should sit, hold and feel in the hand.
Some are swept with cobalt or warm earth tones. Others let the glaze and material do the talking. The marks, slight irregularities and differences in tone are part of how they are made. No two are identical.
These are bowls that move easily through the day. Olives, nuts and dips before dinner. A small serving bowl at the table. Matcha in the morning. Keys by the door. Jewellery beside the bed. Useful enough to earn their place even when they are holding nothing at all.
Many of the colours are painted beneath the glaze rather than over it, becoming part of the ceramic itself. Fired at high temperatures, the surface is made for use, not simply display.
Made in small batches by independent makers whose understanding of clay, glaze and fire has been built through practice. The hand remains visible in every piece.
Objects to use often. Beautiful enough to leave out.
