Square Ceramic Tiles.

Nine square ceramic tiles in various earthy and cool-toned colors, arranged in two rows on a gray concrete surface with soft shadows.

Colour, held in a square.

Our square ceramic tiles are hand-painted and glazed in Spain, with subtle variations in colour and surface. Available in 10 × 10, 13 × 13 and 15 × 15 cm, in plain colours and patterned designs for kitchens, bathrooms, splashbacks and feature walls.

Our square ceramic tiles are handmade and hand-painted in Spain from terracotta clay, then individually finished, glazed and fired. Slight variations from one tile to the next are part of the making process and give the finished surface its character.

Sizes & material
Square tiles are available in 10 × 10 cm, 13 × 13 cm and 15 × 15 cm formats. Made from 100% ceramic with a terracotta body. Thickness varies by collection; check the individual product page for exact specifications.

Colours, designs & finishes
The collection includes solid colours, brushstroke designs and hand-painted patterns in gloss and matte finishes. Colours are designed to work individually or alongside one another, making it possible to create both single-colour surfaces and more considered combinations.

Natural variation
Because each tile is painted, glazed and finished by hand, differences in colour, glaze, edges and surface are expected. Even tiles in the same colour will not be completely identical. We recommend mixing pieces from across your order before installation to distribute these variations naturally.

Where can they be used?
Suitable for interior applications including kitchen splashbacks, bathroom walls, shower walls, fireplaces, feature walls, alcoves and decorative surfaces. Check the individual product page before specifying a tile for flooring, wet areas or other applications with particular technical requirements.

Which size should I choose?
The three square formats create subtly different effects. 10 × 10 cm produces a finer grid with more visible grout lines; 13 × 13 cm sits comfortably between traditional and contemporary proportions; 15 × 15 cm creates a broader, calmer surface with fewer joints. The right format depends on the scale of the room and the effect you want to create.

How many tiles will I need?
As a guide, 50 tiles cover approximately 0.50 m² in 10 × 10 cm, 0.85 m² in 13 × 13 cm and 1.13 m² in 15 × 15 cm, before allowing for grout joints, cuts and wastage. We recommend ordering additional tiles for installation and future replacements.

Installation
Small differences in dimensions and edges should be expected with handmade tiles. Lay out the tiles before installation to balance colour and surface variation across the area. We recommend installation by an experienced professional using adhesives, grout, preparation and sealing appropriate to the tile and intended application.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use these tiles in showers, on floors or outdoors?

Our hand-glazed ceramic tiles are suitable for interior walls and floors, including kitchen splashbacks, bathrooms and shower walls. They withstand warm conditions and have an easy-to-clean glazed surface, making them a practical, durable finish for everyday interiors.

We do not recommend outdoor installation where temperatures may fall below −5°C, as freezing conditions can affect the tile’s integrity.

How much variation should I expect?

Each tile is hand-painted and glazed, so small differences in colour, texture and edges are expected. We recommend ordering a sample and mixing tiles from across your order during installation to create a balanced finish.

Can I mix colours or buy fewer than 50 tiles?

Yes, you can combine two colours within a box of 50 tiles of the same size. Email team@cardoonstudio.com, and we’ll arrange a personalised order for you.

Our minimum order is 50 tiles, with individual samples available separately. This helps our independent makers and small family-run workshops cover the minimum costs of small-batch production and sustain their craft.

When will my order arrive, and what does delivery cost?

Tiles are usually dispatched within 5 working days, plus transit time to your address. Delivery charges are shown on each product page and confirmed at checkout. Tiles are excluded from our free-delivery offer.

If you’re working to a project deadline, contact team@cardoonstudio.com before ordering. We’ll confirm the expected delivery timeframe and advise on the best option for your project.

What happens if they arrive damaged?

If your tiles are damaged in transit or have a quality defect, we’ll replace the affected tiles within 7 working days. Email team@cardoonstudio.com with your order number and photographs of the tiles and packaging so we can arrange replacements.

For cancellation and returns information, please check the terms on your chosen tile’s product page before ordering.
