Description

Small cups for unhurried moments. Soft limestone tones settle across natural stoneware, giving each espresso cup its quiet, tactile character.

Handmade and hand-painted in Spain, each stoneware espresso cup carries subtle variations in its shape, glaze and surface, so no two are exactly alike. Substantial despite their small scale, they are made for espresso, cortado and the everyday coffee ritual.

The warm neutral glaze makes the set easy to combine with both contemporary and more traditional tableware. Supplied as a set of 4 espresso cups.

Home Styling
  • I tend to reach for this one on the mornings that need a slower start. It works just as well on a kitchen counter as it does on a tray in bed, with whatever is already there. The olive sits quietly against the cream. Over time you stop noticing it as a choice. It just becomes the mug.
Cultural Essence

The colours of these cups belong to the Mediterranean as much as the clay beneath them. They come from a landscape of mineral earth, sunlit stone, sea, fields and orchards. They're not aesthetic choices borrowed from somewhere else. They're simply the colours that surround the people who make them.

The workshops behind this collection are part of a ceramic tradition that has endured in this part of Spain for more than a thousand years. Techniques travelled across the Mediterranean, where they took root and became part of everyday life.

What makes that history remarkable is that it never became something to preserve behind glass. It remains a living practice, carried forward by independent makers who continue to work with the same materials, the same rhythms, and the same respect for the craft.

The world learned to make things faster. These makers kept making them well.

Material Intelligence

The bone/ limestone brushstroke is painted by hand before glazing, where warm colour meets raw clay in a line that can never be repeated exactly.

During the firing, the glaze softens and settles, the clay contracts, and the boundary between them becomes something neither entirely planned nor entirely accidental.

The maker understands how clay shrinks, how glaze flows, and how heat transforms minerals into surface. They guide the process, but the kiln completes it.

Each cup carries that conversation between hand, earth and fire. No two are exactly alike, and none are trying to be.
